Leadville training is long and hard, especially when it gets dark and cold. Having great people to train with makes it so much easier. This week was characterized by staying the course. Starting to make friends with the number 4 in the a.m. - never thought that would happen in my life.
Feeling especially inspired by my friend Andy Erpelding who killed his Ironman yesterday with a time of 13 hours and 14 minutes. He beat his goal by 45 minutes! Some might say he was fortunate - I say he earned everything he received yesterday. I know how hard and consistently he worked for over 6 months! Andy was in the pool, riding on the road and running all over town 6 days a week for half a year working out 1-2 time per day. He reminded me of the value of committing to a steady training program - I'm hoping that we will have success at Leadville because of our commitment to our training and rejecting excuses that arise due to weather, etc. Looking forward to our stair combo workout at 5 a.m. tomorrow morning!
